Pet acupuncture is a safe technique consisting of the insertion of needles into specific healing pressure points throughout your pet’s body. This holistic method of treatment can help your pet find relief from a variety of ailments including:
According to the American Veterinary Dental Society more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by the age of 3. Dental disease can be very uncomfortable for pets and the longer it is left untreated, the more complicated and expensive it becomes to treat. Furthermore, certain dental diseases can lead to issues with your pet’s heart, liver and kidneys, and can also flood their body and bloodstream with harmful bacteria.
At North East Animal Hospital, we conduct a thorough oral exam during each wellness visit and are equipped to treat dental disease if we identify a cause for concern. We highly recommend you have a veterinarian evaluate your pet’s dental health at least once a year even if your pet is not demonstrating symptoms. Schedule an oral exam to prevent irreversible periodontal disease, tooth loss, and possibly expensive oral surgery.
Your pets are part of your family and you want them to have the best quality of life possible. Laser therapy can help achieve that goal. North East Animal Hospital uses Class IV laser therapy to quickly relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and speed healing.
The most common conditions we use Class IV Laser Therapy for include:
North East Animal Hospital offers laser packages that include 8-10 treatments, or you can do single treatments. Call today for pricing and scheduling options.
Microchipping is the most effective means of identification for your pet. Similar to vaccinations, microchipping is safe, quick and causes little pain. We always recommend an ID tag be attached to your pet’s collar, but the microchip will serve as an extra layer of protection if an accident does occur. Most veterinary hospitals and shelters are equipped with a handheld microchip scanner that can be used to check for a chip. If the pet has one, it will transmit its ID number to the scanner via a low-frequency radio wave. From there, they can retrieve the pet owner’s contact information from the manufacturer and call the owner.

Digital radiology allows us to examine your pet’s internal systems to screen for fractures and sprains, foreign objects, abnormalities within the organs, and even certain types of cancer. Digital X-ray provides quick results so we can treat your pet as soon as possible and speed up their recovery.
Ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic procedure that helps our veterinarians diagnose and treat your pet’s condition. Ultrasound imaging allows us to examine the internal organs including the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, bladder, gastrointestinal tract and reproductive tract. It also gives our veterinarians the ability to diagnose abnormalities that are not easily seen with x-rays or physical examination alone.
North East Animal Hospital is equipped to perform a variety of surgical services, including spay/neuter, caesareans, tumor and lump removals, wound stitches, intestinal obstructions, extensive orthopedics and more. Vaccinations are an essential part of your pet’s health care plan starting from the time they are very young. Pets should be vaccinated between 6 and 12 weeks of age and require boosters throughout their life.
Many pet parasites can infect people in addition to animals, which means parasite prevention is important for the health of your pet and your family. Animals are susceptible to a variety of parasites that can be easily avoided with parasite preventative.
Vaccinations and preventative care give your pets the best chance to avoid sickness and disease. At North East Animal Hospital, we create a personalized plan to meet the exact needs of your pet.
